You know what feature we really need here? (Or at least I do ...)

I need "yesterday in history." I frequently check out the TDIH and get about two-thirds or three-quarters of the way through it in the course of a workday. Then I go home and I intend to listen to the rest of the next day. The next day it is no longer the TDIH and I have to go hunt for it.

Can we have a "YDIH" so that I can easily listen to the rest of my show the next day?

Yes, I suppose this is a small complaint in the scheme of things ... and I realize I could solve it quickly by bookmarking the show.

What ends up happening is I click on the TDIH instead, and I end up listening to a lot of shows not quite all the way through. Which is a bad approach since the last third of most shows is where the best stuff happens. I listen to proportionally too many Bertha's and Mexicali's and too few Dark Stars.

Just felt like complaining. Wow that was a lot of words wasted on a trivial complaint.

What I'm hearing as your "complaint" is more like a lament: So much music, too little time. True for me too - can't listen as deeply as I'd like.

Yes that's right. Sometimes I secretly don't really want to listen to the rest of the show the next day, the whole vibe has been lost if you can't listen all the way through, or at least through a set. So maybe if I had the YDIH button I wouldn't use it anyway. But then I feel sort of obscurely guilty for not doing it right. This makes no sense at all. I need more caffeine ...

Today, having not gotten all the way through 2-09-73 yesterday, I went to look for it, accidentally typed 10-29 instead of 2-09, early morning typing flub - that is part of the problem, I cannot FIND things before 8 a.m. - got intrigued by 10-29-73 and am now listening to that. But I doubt I'll get through it. I almost never hear a Wharf Rat ...

Maybe next week try starting a show in the second set? I know some folks really dig the 'whole show' vibe and flow, but personally I rarely ( if ever) have the time to listen to a whole show, and sometimes i just don't want to! I often just skip to the jam sequences or my favorite tunes.

The upshot of this for me - I sometimes start a show, get interrupted, minimize the window - and I end up with 4 shows started & minimized (due to recs) - and I can't remember which show was noted for whatever song. The week ends with about 6-8 browser windows open, me shaking my head.

I need more shows. ;)

Wait a minute--that's all I do around here; is there a problem with this approach?

;)

Ahem; this is my bread and butter, and I am afraid you are going to have to work a lot harder to even come close to my accomplishments in this regard...

You can always change the date in the url to get "YDIH" or any other day in history for that matter

ie:
